The Ultimate Transformation Guide
This is where the vision starts becoming reality.
At White Ivy, we offer different capped price foil packages depending on how
much impact, brightness, dimension and overall change you want to create.
Rather than charging by the individual foil, our packages are designed around
the result we are working towards, from subtle dimensional colour through to
major, high impact transformations.
Standard Foil Packages
A softer result, a refresh, or maintaining what we’ve already created.
Our Full Head and Half Head foil packages are designed for clients wanting a
softer result, maintenance or a more subtle refresh.
They may be used to:
- introduce brightness gradually
- create dimension through the hair
- refresh an existing colour
- maintain a previous transformation
- brighten selected areas without dramatically changing the entire canvas
Not every appointment needs to be a complete transformation. Sometimes
maintaining the placement we have already created is exactly what your hair
needs.

This guest came in for our standard full head of foils package as she was after a more subtle effect.
Her hair to begin with was completely virgin level 3.
When Standard Foils May Not Be Suitable
Standard foil packages are best suited to hair that does not require major corrective work or a significant overall change.
They may not be suitable if:
- your colour has grown out for more than approximately 3 to 4 months and the hair requires a more complete refresh
- you are wanting to become significantly lighter in one appointment the mids and ends still require additional lifting
- balayage or further lightening is required between existing foils the hair between the foils is overly warm or brassy and requires correcting with a second, or sometimes even third, colour
- different areas of the hair require different lightening or colour processes
- a second lightening application or “double dose” is required to achieve enough lift
When additional corrective or multi-step work is required, your appointment will generally fall into our Signature Transformation category.
The difference is not simply the number of foils, it is the amount of work
required across the entire canvas.
Signature Transformation Foils
Our highest impact foil service
Our Signature Transformation Foil Package is our highest impact foil service.
It is designed for clients wanting maximum brightness, major lightening, detailed colour placement or a significant visual change in one appointment.
For some clients, this may mean taking suitable dark hair dramatically lighter, even through to platinum, in a single extended session where the starting canvas allows.
For others, the Transformation appointment may be the final stage of a longer
corrective or Grey Blending journey.
Once the base has been prepared and corrected, this is where we can begin introducing the finer details that complete the overall result, including:
- face framing
- contouring
- strategic highlights
- dimensional lowlights
- brightness through selected areas
- customised placement designed to mimic or enhance the natural grey pattern
This is often the point where all the previous preparation and corrective work comes together and the finished colour begins to take shape.

This guest has a natural base that is near black. We had to place the foils first on the darkest area to
process the longest then we did a second application from mids to ends at a later interval so that the lug by enter was not going to cause any overprocessing.
If Platinum Is the Goal
Why we don’t always build gradually
If your end goal is platinum and your hair is virgin or only minimally coloured, gradually building up foils over multiple appointments is not always the safest or most effective approach.
Repeated foiling can increase the risk of overlap, because it is not always possible to perfectly separate previously lightened hair from untouched hair at every appointment. Over time, this can lead to uneven lightening, unnecessary reprocessing and increased dryness, weakness or breakage.
Where the hair is suitable, our Transformation method allows us to work through the entire canvas in one carefully controlled session, so the hair is lifted and monitored as evenly and consistently as possible.
Rather than repeatedly adding more foils to slowly reach the same destination, we work towards the intended result with a clear strategy from the beginning.
If there is significant artificial pigment, previous chemical history or compromised condition, corrective work may still be required first.

This guest had completely virgin hair that was a natural level 3.
With our goal of platinum, we did the fullest full head of micro foils and were able to lift her to a level 10
on the one long sitting.
Your Starting Point Matters
Virgin dark hair behaves very differently to hair containing years of artificial colour, box dye, previous lightener, keratin treatments or other chemical history.
If unwanted artificial pigment is sitting within the hair, your transformation may require one or more CORRECT stages before we can safely create the final result.
The same applies to Grey Blending.
Some clients may be ready to move directly into their transformation appointment, while others may require several stages of base correction and natural regrowth before we can accurately create the final blend, contouring and dimension.
That is why the White Ivy Blueprint follows:

Not every client will need every stage.
Some clients may move directly from PREP into TRANSFORM, while others may need their base corrected over several appointments before their hair is ready for the transformation they originally came in wanting.
Why One Approach Doesn’t Fit All
Your Hair Sets the Limit
We can use our experience, strand testing and your colour history to professionally predict what your hair is likely to achieve.
But every head of hair responds differently.
Your hair will ultimately tell us how far we can safely push it on the day.
If the integrity of the hair tells us to stop, alter the technique or divide the transformation into stages, we will.
Protecting the condition of your hair will always take priority over forcing a result before your hair is ready.
The package determines the impact. Your hair determines the pace.
A transformation is not about getting there at any cost.
It is about getting you there properly
